You wanna believe George Clooney is gay? The actor possesses a resume full of the most beautiful girlfriends in the business, but go right ahead.
He won't stop you.
"I think it's funny," the actor tells The Advocate of such rumors. "But the last thing you'll ever see me do is jump up and down, saying, 'These are lies!' That would be unfair and unkind to my good friends in the gay community. I'm not going to let anyone make it seem like being gay is a bad thing. My private life is private, and I'm very happy in it."
Clooney, of course, is dating Stacy Keibler (or is he really?!?) and is a firm support of gay marriage.
"One day the marriage equality fight will look as archaic as George Wallace standing on the University of Alabama steps keeping James Hood from attending college because he was black," he says. "People will be embarrassed to have been on the wrong side."

And as the show returns from a month-long hiatus, Gleeks aren't the only ones anticipating a few more famous faces. As star Chris Colfer told MTV News on the Golden Globes red carpet, there's plenty to look forward to when New Directions warble again January 17. "Well, the Michael Jackson episode ...," Colfer answered when asked about his most-anticipated upcoming episodes. "We have a Spanish episode coming up with Ricky Martin. I'm the 'White' in 'Black [or] White,' and I sing 'Ben,' that famous song he wrote for the rat." The rodent in question is the pet of a young boy named Danny in the 1972 film "Ben." Jackson sang a version of the theme song that appeared in the movie's closing credits and was later included on his 1972 album also named <em>Ben</em>. 'Eye roll,' Gaga tweets after music mag NME blasts her latest LP.

<P>Earlier this week, British music mag <a href="http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=1&title=the_most_pretentious _albums_ever&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1" target="_blank"><i>NME</i></a> set out to determine the "10 Most Pretentious Albums Ever." The list includes (genuinely pretty terrible) conceptual fare like Kiss' <i>Music From "The Elder,"</i> Lou Reed's <i>Metal Machine Music</i> and, uh, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a>'s <i>Born This Way,</i> which somehow bested all competitors to nab the #1 spot. How? Well, as <i>NME</i> writer Priya Elan wrote, "On <i>Born This Way,</i> [Gaga] seemed to believe in her own hype, convinced she had a message to share. Cue an album of unwieldy 'anthems' that couldn't mask the fact that the fun had left the building." Elan singled out the thumping "Scheiße" as <I>BTW</i>'s most pretentious moment, adding, "Did electroclash die for this?" Snap. As you'd probably expect, those jabs had Gaga's Little Monsters on the offensive, and they launched an all-out attack on Elan in the comments section of <i>NME</i>'s website. But Gaga herself remained above the fray — for a while, anyway. On Thursday night, she took to her <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/ladygaga/status/172828595134267392" target="_blank">Twitter account</a> to hit back at <i>NME,</i> a publication that's certainly been <a href="http://i28.tinypic.com/2vwzpfp.jpg" target="_blank">no stranger to charges of pretentiousness</a> over the years. "Oh the irony of winning 'Most Pretentious Album Ever' from none other than NME. *Eye roll,*" Gaga wrote. "I might laugh forever [and] then return to narcissism." Double snap. Having sufficiently eye-rolled her way through the situation, there's been no further comment from Gaga about the list. <I>NME,</i> of course, has since turned the exchange into <a href="http://www.nme.com/news/lady-gaga/62233" target="_blank">a separate story,</a> one which, for whatever reason (word count?), includes recent comments Gaga made about bulimia ... and spaghetti. *Eye roll.*</p>

With all the hullabaloo caused by the recently leaked photos from the "Star Trek 2" set, people are getting a wee bit distracted from the bigger picture surrounding the film: They're actually making the sequel, people! Let's be content with that happy news and the fact that all our favorite castmembers from the first film have returned, as well as a few very welcome additions, chief among them current actor-in-everything Benedict Cumberbatch.
MTV News recently caught up with the "Sherlock," "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" and "War Horse" actor to find out how things are going on set and his thoughts about his castmates' very high praise for how the British actor has elevated their collective game.
"Well, it's very sweet to say," Cumberbatch told us at Elton John's Oscar viewing party in regards to Chris Pine's compliments. "I actually did a year at drama school, so I'm not that trained; I'm not that classical, but I'm flattered. I think they are brilliant on that show, and it's a real privilege to be on that set. There's a patter and a kind of knowledge of who they're playing and the other main characters, which I'm learning a lot from. It's just good fun. It's great to work with Chris. He's very professional. So is Zach [Quinto], who I've been working a lot with; I adore him, he's a brilliant, brilliant guy.
"I'm kinda getting busy with the film now," Cumberbatch teased of his villainous character's actions in and around deep space. "I've been away doing other things — 'The Hobbit,' which was fantastic. And so my part of the film is really sorta kicking in now. It's great fun, great, great fun. But what I'm trying to say is it's a great thing to come into something that everybody's familiar with and knows each other very well. So it's [in] a weird way a very easy thing to get up to speed with, because everybody is so welcoming and gets along with one another."

Felony, schmelony. Brooke Mueller is unlikely to spend any time in jail due to her recent arrest for cocaine possession.
Sources tell TMZ that Mueller's attorney is hammering out a plea bargain with Colorado prosecutors that will result in a "deferred prosecution" for his client. Translation: she will be forced to perform community service and take drug education classes as the result of her December 2 arrest - but will avoid prison altogether.
Mueller was arrested in late 2011 for allegedly assaulting a woman in a nightclub. A count of felony possession of cocaine with intent to distribute was tacked on last week, but Charlie Sheen's ex-wife is simply due in court on April 2, insiders confirm.
At that point, unless negotiations between lawyers fall apart, she will enter a plea and receive a light sentence. Raise your hand if you're surprised.

I've been watching a lot of HGTV since coming to LA. My favorite shows are House Hunters and House Hunters International. There's also another show I like to watch called For Rent, but only because it makes me angry.
When it comes to apartments/homes, I think living in New York for the past eleven years has made me bitter because there was this whiny broad on For Rent a few nights ago who was looking at a huge place—A HUGE PLACE—and was like, "There's no place for a dining room table..."
B*TCH, YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET A KITCHEN IN NEW YORK.
I hated her.
Now there's some stupid lady on House Hunters who wants a townhouse with a fireplace that she can turn on with a light switch. IT HAS TO BE A LIGHT SWITCH because she doesn't want to bend down and flip a switch on the floor.
WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE?
Anyway, I know my LA update is WAY overdue (and truth be told I wrote a long one last week but for some reason it didn't save so I lost the whole thing and I was so angry that I just said, "Ah, f*ck it," and closed the computer instead of rewriting) but to give you a quick update, I AM SO HAPPY HERE. I MEAN, I'M REALLY, REALLY HAPPY. And I think living here and watching HGTV—both of these things combined—has made me realize that New York was just beating me down. I mean, the fireplace lady—yes, she's an idiot. But there's nothing wrong with wanting a dining room table. Why did I get so mad at that lady?
Since being here, at least once a day I ask myself why I have lived in New York for so long. (It's like I had Stockholm Syndrome or something.) CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME. It's like the promised land. It's sunny all the time and there are birds and flowers everywhere. I have space out here. I have a sofa on the patio out here. I HAVE A SOFA OUTSIDE. I haven't seen one rat since I've been here. But hummingbirds? THEY ZIP BY MY HEAD EVERY DAY. I am so happy.
I'm supposed to go back to New York in November, but truth be told, I'm not sure I will.

<P>Just weeks after being sent to jail for <a href="/news/articles/1675062/conrad-murray-sentence.jhtml">four years</a> following a conviction on a felony involuntary manslaughter charge in the death of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml" target="_blank">Michael Jackson</a>, cardiologist Conrad Murray is throwing himself on the mercy of the court. The doctor had been slated to earn up to $150,000 a month to act as Jackson's personal physician before the pop icon's death in June 2009 from an overdose of the Murray-administered surgical anesthetic propofol. But on Tuesday <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/conrad_murray_in_shackles_asks/280479" target="_blank"><I>E! News</I></a> reported that Murray filed a <a href="/news/articles/1675343/conrad-murray-conviction-appeal.jhtml">notice of appeal</a> in Los Angeles Superior Court in which he claimed that he is "indigent and respectfully requests the appointment of counsel on appeal." Murray, 58, is planning to appeal both his conviction and his sentence, but has not yet filed papers with the California Appeals Court. He had hired two lawyers to handle his manslaughter case, but is now seeking attorneys with appeal experience. One of those former lawyers, J. Michael Flanagan, told E! that he was shocked at how his client is being treated in jail. "It is crazy and unbelievable how [the sheriffs] are treating" Murray in jail, said Flanagan, who claimed he waited over an hour to see Murray, who was brought out in handcuffs and leg chains. Flanagan was further shocked to see Murray handcuffed to the table for their meeting, something the lawyer said he'd never seen before in the case of a low-level, non-violent offender. Charles Peckham, who is handling civil cases against Murray, told the <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/doctor-convicted-in-michael-jacksons-death-seeking-court-paid-attorney-for-appeal/2011/12/13/gIQAHIYGsO_story.html" target="_blank"><I>Associated Press</I></a> that his client is under tight security and isolation that is more intense than other inmates at the Los Angeles Men's Central Jail. "Treating him like Hannibal Lecter is offensive," said Peckham. "This man who saved lives made a mistake, and they're going to [make] him pay like a mass-murderer." Sheriff's officials defended the tight security, saying it was for Murray's safety.</p>

The singer was invited last week to attend the prom of Kevin McGuire, an 18-year old from New Jersey who has suffered a relapse of leukemia.
The invitation was set up by Kevin's sister, Tori, who created a "Taylor Swift Take Kevin McGuire to Prom!" Facebook page that has nearly 100,000 followers and on whose profile it reads:
Kevin is the kindest, most noble 18 year old a person could even fathom meeting, and throughout his ups and downs Kevin never even questioned 'why me?' Nothing, and I mean NOTHING brightens Kevin's day more than Taylor Swift. Kevin DESERVES more than anyone a special event in his life.
Taylor agrees. On her Facebook page, the superstar responded to this request with:
"Kevin, I'm so sorry but I won't be able to make it to your prom. But I was wondering, the ACM Awards are coming up... Would you be my date?"
The Academy of Country Music Awards will take place on April 1 in Las Vegas and Swift is nominated for several big ones, including Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year.
Said McGuire, who is being treated at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, to USA Today: "Obviously I said yes. [The CMAs are] a lot better than the senior prom."

Taking part in the grandest of all Tinseltown events, Christian Bale was among the stars at the 84th Academy Awards on Sunday evening (February 26).
The 38-year-old "Dark Knight Rises" star skipped out on the Kodak Theatre red carpet while opting to head directly inside to tend to his Oscar affairs.
During the course of the night, Bale took the stage to hand out one of the coveted trophies - as he named Octavia Spencer as Best Supporting Actress.
As for the top contenders, "Hugo" leads the pack at 11 nominations while "The Artist" sits close behind at 10 chances for Oscar glory.
Meanwhile, the 2012 Academy Awards will be hosted by Billy Crystal and will broadcast live on ABC beginning at 7e/4p.

'It was the first time you hear an artist from the mainstream singing bachata,' former Aventura frontman tells MTV News of single 'Promise.'

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/romeo_santos/artist.jhtml">Romeo Santos</a>, the former lead singer of the popular bachata group <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/aventura/artist.jhtml">Aventura</a>, has taken a new step in his career, venturing out on his own as a solo artist. Mixing his signature bachata flair with some R&B, he is showing fans a whole new side on his debut album, <i>Formula, Vol. 1.</i> </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:734074" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Hoping to spread his unique sound and style to a mainstream audience, Santos enlisted <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lil_wayne/artist.jhtml">Lil Wayne</a> for his latest single, "All Aboard." "This song 'All Aboard,' that tune allowed me to expand and kind of offer my audience something totally different because it's not bachata — I'm singing English and that was really fun," Santos recently told MTV News. "I was a little nervous about that, but people actually really accepted it." Santos and Weezy recently shot the video for "All Aboard" in Miami; he called the clip "sexy," "seductive" and "elegant," but also revealed that this collaboration came very close to not making his album. "I was just like, I like the song but it's missing something, and at first I couldn't figure out what it was," Santos said. "What we did was we left 16 bars open, and I was like, you know, who would rip this track? Lil Wayne. So we reached out. It barely made the album because he's a busy dude, so he actually got on the record two months after we submitted it. It was like, if we don't get his vocals in the next two days we hit, and we got it, so we made it and the song is just really great." Wayne isn't the only artist Santos pulled in for his album. On his last single, "Promise," he teamed up with <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a>, who last week joined him onstage at <a href="/news/articles/1678993/romeo-santos-solo-tour.jhtml">Santos' first of three sold-out shows</a> at New York's Madison Square Garden. "I felt at that moment once again I was going to revolutionize bachata 'cause it was the first time that you hear an artist from the mainstream singing bachata," Santos said. <P>PETA's youth division, peta2, is giving props to celebs like <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a>, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a> and "Glee" star Lea Michele at this year's <a href="http://features.peta2.com/libby-awards-2011/?utm_campaign=1211%20Libbys%20Nominees%20Press%20Pitches&utm_source=peta2%20Pitch&utm_medium=Media#PeopleAndMusic" target="_blank">Libby Awards</a> for their efforts in support of animal rights. The Biebs, who appeared in a <a href="/news/articles/1656302/justin-bieber-peta-ad.jhtml">campaign</a> for the organization at the top of the year using Bieber-fied catch-phrases like "My world includes passion for animals, yours should too" and "Animals can make u smile. Adopt from your local shelter," is taking on fellow animal-loving pop star Ke$ha and rappers k-os and Waka Flocka Flame in the Most Animal-Friendly Pop/Hip-Hop Artist category. Ke$ha appeared in an ad campaigning against the slaughter of Canadian seals. Michele, who speaks out against the mistreatment of carriage horses in New York City, faces off against "Jackass" star Steve-O, Cobra Starship's leading man and peta2's Sexiest Vegetarian Gabe Saporta, and "Victorious" star Daniella Monet in the Top Animal-Friendly Celebrity category. The Ready Set, Tokio Hotel, Hellogoodbye and the Swellers are all up for Most Animal-Friendly Band. Ke$ha and Tokio are also up for Best peta2 ad along with Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness and Yelle. The Libby (as in "Liberation") Awards will be decided on January 17 by fan votes as well as peta2. Voting ends December 23. "Our nominees have all worked hard to shine their spotlights on a variety of important animal issues," peta2 Division Manager Marta Holmberg said about the nominees, which honors animal-friendly people and products. "As our accomplished stars demonstrate, compassion isn't just a virtue — it's also a road to success."</p>
